Job Description

  • Repair damage to metal, fibreglass, and plastic bodywork on vehicles.

  • Remove damaged panels, parts, upholstery, and accessories to gain access.

  • Remove dents by hammering panels.

  • Straighten damaged vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment.

  • Replace badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels.

  • Fill depressions with plastic filler, then file, grind, and sand repaired surfaces to a smooth finish.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Panel Beater.

  • Trade qualification in Panel Beating or a similar field.

  • Certificate IV or at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

  • In some cases, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality repairs.

Must Provide

  • Current CV demonstrating relevant experience.

  • Identification documents, such as a passport or birth certificate.

  • Copy of trade certificates or qualifications.

  • Proof of employment, such as valid payslips or bank statements.

  • Driver’s license (if applicable).

  • Any awards or certificates issued related to panel beating.


Desirable

  • Experience working with modern panel repair tools and techniques.

  • Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and structural repair guidelines.

  • Experience with welding, panel fabrication, and frame straightening.

  • Knowledge of spray painting and finishing techniques.

  • Ability to work with insurance repair assessments.
