Job Description

  • Examining blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.

  • Measuring and laying out installation reference points.

  • Selecting, cutting, and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors.

  • Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults.

  • Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts.

  • Positioning and installing electrical switchboards.

  • Connecting electrical systems to power supply.

  • Testing continuity of circuit.

  • Installing, testing, and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of lifts.

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate III or at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.

  • In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

Must be able to provide:

  • A current CV with experience in the role you are applying for

  • Identification

  • Copy of trade certificate or qualifications

  • Copy of valid payslips or bank account

  • Passport or birth certificate

  • Driver’s license

  • Evidence of employment

  • Any awards or certificates issued

Desirable

  • Previous experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.

  • Experience with Australian electrical standards and regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Previous experience working in remote or regional areas.

  • Additional certifications in electrical safety or automation systems.
